GUIDELINES FOR FOREIGN TRAINING FELLOWS


1. The foreign training fellow may see a patient only when physically accompanied by the trainors. He may assist the trainor in discussing and planning the work-up and treatment of the patients. He may assist  a trainor in performing procedures.

2. The foreign trainee is expected to attend and participate in all conferences, lectures, discussions, and other training activities of the Institute. He is expected to present his own observation in these conferences, subject to evaluation similar with the other regular fellows.

3.The foreign trainee is required to participate in lectures in the monthly scientific meeting. He is to comply with all scientific paper requirement of the Institute.

4. The foreign trainee may attend conferences and training activities outside the CSI-Manila such as conventions and lectures. He is subject to the same agreement in wet clinics, hands-on activities, or other activities where he directely deals with patients.

5. The foreign trainee will be subject to the same evaluation and grading procedures employed in the Institute for assessing performance of its fellows for promotion to the next level of training, retention to the same level, or termination from the program. If he is found satisfactory in his work at the end of his training, he will be issued a certificate certifying his competence in the field. The Training Director, subject to approval by the CSI board, may extend this period based on his evaluation of the foreign trainee's readiness to practice this specialty.
